چکیده
Assessing the severity of Atopic Dermatitis (AD) traditionally relies on face-to-face assessments by healthcare professionals. Such approaches are resource-intensive for participants and staff, challenging during pandemics, prone to inter- intra-observer variation. We aim investigate what extent computer vision algorithms can help standardise automate detection assessment AD using real-world digital images, without human intervention. developed EczemaNet, a deep learning pipeline detect assess from camera images. first trained model that lesions in images data provided four dermatologists who delineated (“segmented”) regions 1345 287 children. then second seven disease signs identified. EczemaNet demonstrated good performance assessing while being robust poor imaging conditions. noted inter-rater reliability segmentation dermatologists, i.e. rarely reached consensus location potential Nevertheless, we highlighted challenge accurately detecting lesions. It may limit attempting

Correlation of total serum IgE and density of house dust mites with severity of Atopic Dermatitis
Background and aim: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic relapsing skin disease that commonly begins during infancy and early childhood. Research studies refers to a relationship between exacerbation of atopic dermatitis and exposure to house dust mite (HDM), but the role of HDM in the pathogenesis of AD is controversial. The objecitve of this study was to assess the correlation of density...
متن کاملFully automated assessment of the severity of Parkinson's disease from speech
For several decades now, there has been sporadic interest in automatically characterizing the speech impairment due to Parkinson's disease (PD). Most early studies were confined to quantifying a few speech features that were easy to compute. More recent studies have adopted a machine learning approach where a large number of potential features are extracted and the models are learned automatica...
متن کاملPathogenesis of Atopic Dermatitis: Current Paradigm
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is characterized by skin inflammation, barrier dysfunction and chronic pruritus. In this review, recent advances in the pathogenesis of AD are summarized. Clinical efficacy of the anti-IL-4 receptor antibody dupilumab implies that type 2 cytokines IL-4 and IL-13 have pivotal roles in atopic inflammation. The expression of IL-4 and IL-13 as well as type 2 chemokines such a...
متن کاملImprovement of Atopic Dermatitis Severity after Reducing Indoor Air Pollutants
BACKGROUND Recent epidemiologic studies have shown that environmental contaminants such as air pollution and tobacco smoke play an important role in the pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis (AD). OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the severity of AD and indoor air pollution. METHODS The study population consisted of 425 children from 9 kindergartens, Ko...
متن کاملTime spent on treatment (TSOT). An independent assessment of disease severity in atopic dermatitis.
INTRODUCTION Time spent on treatment (TSOT) appears to reflect disease severity in pediatric patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). Our purpose was to examine the relationship between time spent on treatment and parental psychological parameters such as anxiety and depression. METHODS TSOT was studied in a group of parents of patients with AD participating in an eczema school. TSOT included al...
